Robson's Extreme Fishing Challenge[edit]

The spin-off series from Extreme Fishing with Robson Green is Robson's Extreme Fishing Challenge where Green heads around the world taking on local fishing champions from that nation. The series started on 9 April 2012.

Robson Green: Extreme Fisherman[edit]

With the series moving from channel 5 to Quest, the title was changed to reflect that he is now one of the world's most experienced fishermen, rather than the mere amateur he was before.[2] The series will be based on the same premise as its predecessors, and is produced by the same team.[3] As-yet confirmed locations visited in the upcoming series are Borneo, Mongolia, Japan and the Solomon Islands [4]

A diver fought off a 2.5m hammerhead shark with his camera stick while fishing in Cape York Peninsula.

Dion Creek, from Queensland, was diving for crayfish in Magpie Reef near Princess Charlotte Bay last Wednesday when the shark struck.

The terrifying moment was caught on camera and shows the shark appearing from nowhere and darting towards the diver.

As the animal lunges the video shows the diver tumbling in the water, with flashes of the shark’s thrashing fins and tail.

The diver seems to push the shark away before reaching up to escape.

The dad-of-one later relived the terrifying moment in an interview with 9 News.

Mr Creek said: “I was about to adjust the camera, I just caught the shark coming out the corner of my eye.”

He said he was forced to shove the shark with his camera stick three times before he could free himself.

He said: “I pushed the first time, it came at me again. I hit it the second time and I pushed it away the third time, just to push away from it.

“I was the only person in the water, there were only two people in the boat.

“Looking back on it, I’m actually quite lucky, but at the time it didn’t faze me.

“I don’t want to be a statistic so next time I need to be more careful and take some more safety precautions and have another diver in the water.”
